The interest in global lotteries, akin to the US's 'Mega Millions' and 'Powerball', has surged worldwide.

Gone are the days when individuals relied on friends or acquaintances living in the US to purchase tickets on their behalf. Now, modern methods have emerged, such as buying through online.

In November, a lucky individual won a staggering prize of 165 million dollars from the Mega Millions. Previously, in June, the jackpot reached an astronomical amount of 414 million dollars. As of December 17th, the jackpot stands at 310 million dollars.

Such immense prizes offered by Mega Millions and Powerball have drawn attention worldwide. As we move into an era where we can purchase almost anything online without visiting the country of origin, the fame of these US lotteries has grown. However, purchasing these tickets is embroiled in controversy.

While Mega Millions and Powerball are the two primary US lotteries currently being sold, their astronomical prizes have attracted people from all over the globe. However, there are stipulations: if a ticket is mailed or taken out of the US, and it wins, the prize becomes void.

But if the ticket remains in the US, the no-win policy does not apply, and the prize can be claimed. There have been cases of foreigners from Iraq and Panama who, through purchase agents, have won and successfully claimed their prizes. The debate will only intensify if a winner emerges from a outside of US and goes on to claim the jackpot.
